ABCIC – the Brazilian Association of Industrialized Concrete Construction officially launched, last November 13th, the ABCIC Exhibit of Industrialized Concrete Construction at Construction Expo 2013 - the 2nd International Trade Show of Building and Infrastructure Construction which will take place from June 5th to 8th next year at Centro de Exposições Imigrantes in the city of São Paulo, Brazil.
The Exhibit will present the process involved in the production of precast concrete elements; starting from their design, on through manufacturing and, finally, to the assembly of the system. Thus, visitors to the trade show will have an opportunity to understand the concept and importance of this sector to the Brazilian construction industry. “The projects that utilize our system, such as the sports arenas for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, have the magnitude in terms of engineering and architecture to exemplify our proposal,” explains Paulo Sérgio Teixeira Cordeiro, marketing director of ABCIC.
The content to be featured at the ABCIC Exhibit on Industrialized Concrete Construction will be developed and built with the participation of companies that are active in the business of precast concrete elements, among which manufacturers as well as suppliers of materials, equipment, supplies and services. “The proposal is to show the integration of the entire production chain, presenting the solution itself and all its stages. Thus, we will strengthen our industry even more and provide our associate members with an opportunity to deepen the relationships between themselves and with their customers too,” states Cordeiro.
To Íria Lícia Oliva Doniak, executive director of ABCIC, the proposal of the ABCIC Exhibit should produce an institutional legacy of content and information. “With the execution of this exclusive space, we can elaborate on the different stages of the system, promoting its concept, benefits and contribution to the development of construction in the country," she assesses.
With 495 m² in area, the ABCIC Exhibit on Industrialized Concrete Construction will also have eight workstations and four areas for hospitality and the promotion of relationships between professionals and companies who share in the exhibit space. The floor plan was developed jointly by the ABCIC and Sobratema - the Brazilian Association of Technology for Equipment and Maintenance (promoter of Construction Expo 2013) to enhance visitation and the showcasing of the concepts involved in precast concrete elements. The exterior walls, for example, will be made of glass so that visitors to the show have a view of the interior of the exhibit and, then, can enter to get to know the system better. In addition, there will be panels and audio-visual resources throughout the facility.
"We chose this format because we understand the potential of Construction Expo 2013 - a horizontal trade show that will present all the construction processes and that targets users of these systems; in this case, construction companies,” says Doniak. “Companies that join us in participating in this exhibit with gain visibility and contribute effectively with an extremely rich institutional content which will benefit the entire chain of production in our segment of industry,” she adds. Companies can participate in the ABCIC Exhibit by acquiring sponsorship quotas and become Gold, Silver or Bronze sponsors.
According to Doniak, the entity will work strongly to ensure that the Exhibit on Industrialized Concrete Construction (the promotion of which starts as of the release of this newsletter) will be successful. To accomplish this, several actions, among which will be the inclusion of the project on the association’s official calendar of events, will be deployed.
According to Sobratema trade show director Hugo Ribas Branco, partnering with ABCIC is extremely important. “Precast concrete elements are present in every niche of construction engineering and are closely linked to Construction Expo 2013. And the launch of the ABCIC Exhibit is a milestone for a series of events that have been well-planned by this important representative organization,” he concludes.
