In all, the international relation’s area of Sobratema - the Brazilian Association of Technology for Construction and Mining participated in nine events abroad: four technical missions, three trade shows and two congresses.

“It was an excellent year. We were requested to make presentations at important congresses and seminars, such as the CECE Congress, and we renewed our partnerships with highly relevant representative associations such as Ubifrance, for instance”, explains Arlene Vieira, International Relations Director for Sobratema.

Among the trade shows at which the association was present and active were: World of Concrete and Minexpo, in the United States; Intermat, in France; Made Expo, in Italy; Excon, in Peru; ExpoVial, in Argentina; and Bauma China. As regards conferences, besides the CECE Congress, Sobratema directors also attended the presentations of the AEM Annual Conference.

For 2013, Arlene states that the international relations area will continue to work toward strengthening Sobratema worldwide. The first international event for which the association has confirmed its presence with a technical mission of Brazilian delegates is World of Concrete, which takes place from February 4th to 8th in Las Vegas, Nevada. “Besides this trade fair in the U.S., we have also already begun preparations to take a technical mission to Bauma - in Munich, Germany - which will take place in April and is the largest and most important exhibition for the sectors of construction and mining”, she concludes.
