At the end of July, Instituto Opus (Opus Institute) will introduce a new course developed to qualify and facilitate the work of professionals devoted to maintenance, supervision and control of mechanical repair shops in large companies that operate in the segments of mining and construction. Entitled “Desvendando a Análise de Óleo” (or, loosely translated, ‘Understanding Oil Analysis’), the new course targets the proper qualification of professionals in charge of caring for the lubrication and maintenance of equipment used at construction and mining work sites. The new course is the product of cooperation between the Opus Institute and Grupo Oilcheck - specialists in solutions for the analysis of fluids and micro-filtering systems –and is focused on predictive maintenance.
“Our new course is aimed at professionals in the areas of supervision and maintenance who already use resources and ‘tools’ for the analysis of oil. With the course, we intend to contribute toward improving the results of analyses through the use of a new methodology which includes mastering, by the professional, of the proper interpretation of consolidated data on the use of equipment,” explains Wilson de Mello Jr., director of Instituto Opus – the educational arm of SOBRATEMA (Brazilian Association of Technology for Construction and Mining) – which is focused on training , qualification and certification of professionals in both segments of the market.
With a duration of eight hours, the new course offered by Instituto Opus is scheduled to take place on October 02st for a target public consisting mainly of: maintenance engineers, lubrication supervisors, maintenance supervisors and maintenance controllers. Among the topics to be presented by the institute’s instructors are: reading and interpretation/understanding of oil analysis reports; correlation of inspection initiatives in the field based on the results found in the analyses; comprehension of the sources of wear in equipment and its main causes; and application of the assessments according to the trend found in the results from the analysis of the oil.
