M&T Parts and Services will gather the areas of after-sales services, components, management and diagnostics of equipment

Trade show will also hold a Congress for discussion of the main issues related to the sector

The resumption of investment in infrastructure, with the beginning of the Brazilian federal government’s ‘Programa de Investimentos em Logística’ (PIL - Program for Investment in Logistics), through the auction for the concession of highway BR-050 which runs from the state of  Minas Gerais (MG) to Goiás (GO) and the publication of the call for tender for the concession of the Confins (MG) and Galeão (RJ) airports whose auction is scheduled for November 22nd, brings new prospects for companies that  operate in this segment. Also scheduled, in addition to these two initiatives, are the concessions of railway and seaport operations and the continuation of calls for tender bidding on other federal highways.

This inflow of investment breathes new life into companies in the construction business chain and, therefore, expectations for 2014 are more optimistic. The area of construction equipment, for example, should benefit from the positive impacts of these measures as should the segments of parts, components, after-sales services and maintenance. According to the Sobratema Study of the Brazilian Market for Construction Equipment, the number of machines for civil and heavy construction is estimated at around 455,000 units with up to 10 years of age and 315,000 units of up to five years old. And, with the benefits that the area of equipment will have, there will be demand for new technologies for the management, diagnostic and after-sales services, parts and inputs that contribute toward maintaining the efficiency and productivity of equipment.

Within this context, Sobratema – the Brazilian Association of Technology for Construction and Mining is preparing the a new edition of M&T Parts and Services - the 2nd Trade Show and Congress for Technology and Management of Construction and Mining Equipment to be held from June 3rd to 6th 2014 at the Centro de Exposições Imigrantes in the city of São Paulo, Brazil.

According to Hugo Ribas , executive director for trade shows at Sobratema, the strength of the construction market in Brazil has attracted new international players and manufacturers of equipment from Asia, Europe and the United States. “Leading-edge technology today is dominant in the various brands found in the market. Thus, the differentiating, distinguishing factor that will govern the decisions of buyers of equipment for construction and mining is the manufacturer’s strategy and policy of supply in serving his or her customer efficiently and effectively,” Ribas affirms. “M&T Parts and Services 2014 provides manufacturers of equipment a unique opportunity to present to potential buyers his/her complete command of after-sales operations,” he added during a press conference held Tuesday, October 15th in São Paulo.

M&T Parts and Services 2014 will gather, under one roof, the main players in this sector to meet the expected demand and facilitate decision making by contractors, mining companies, equipment fleet owners and rental companies in acquiring after-sales solutions, replacement parts and inputs. On a total exhibition area of 36,000 m², the trade show’s organizers expect 18 thousand visitors and 280 exhibitors. According to the market’s estimates, the volume of business involving replacement parts, supplies and services for equipment for construction and mining in Brazil is about R$ 6 billion (US$ 2.73 billion) per year. There are over 12,000 maintenance and repair shops serving such equipment in the country.

One of the latest introductions to M&T Parts and Services, according to Ribas, is the inclusion of the concept of equipment management and, with that, there has been the addition of new sectors, such as technological solutions for monitoring and remote control of equipment, onboard electronic systems, telemetry systems, navigation systems, operation simulators and management software. “This state-of-the-art equipment management technology, to be presented at the show, will point out the benefits that it provides to construction and mining companies as regards increasing productivity, decreasing the costs associated with equipment fleet maintenance and raising safety requirements at the job site,” he underscores.

The trade show will also present other sectors such as: drive systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electrical systems, tires and undercarriages, lubricants, filters, oil analysis labs, control systems, ground engaging tools and wear parts, machine and power tools for workshops, safety equipment, PPE, light equipment, devices for securing / binding and lifting of loads, products and systems for environmental control, rendering of maintenance services, insurance companies, transportation companies qualification, training and certification of labor.

Since it is the only trade show devoted exclusively to the areas of management, after-sales solutions, inputs and components for construction and mining equipment, M&T Parts and Services will present a series of introductions for this segment, making it a showcase of technological innovations for professionals who work in the sector.

Something else that’s new about M&T Parts and Services is that it now incorporates into the very name of the trade show the Congress which is held concurrently with the event, reinforcing its proposition of offering visitors to the show an environment of ample access to information, dissemination of new technologies and to the knowledge of the segment.
