Sobratema increases the number of equipment brands and models

Values of the five components of total hourly cost of machines were also updated

 The program Equipment Hourly Cost issued by Sobratema – Brazilian Association of Technology for Construction and Mining is presenting several improvements. The first one is the increase in the quantity of models available for consultation, which passed from 113 to 126. This increase reflects the current situation of the Brazilian market, with a growing number of manufacturers and with more and more models offered by local manufacturers and importers.

The second improvement is the updating—to February, 2014—of the values of the five components—property, maintenance, undercarriage, fuels/lubricants, operating labor—that compose the hourly cost. To do this updating, Sobratema carried out a survey with main manufacturers, suppliers and users of equipment in Brazil.

The program allows the users to know hourly costs of main construction equipment used in several types of works. Its interactive features also allow the user to change the suggested parameters, developing its own cost tables and carrying out calculations for different types of machines. The user also may save these cost sheets to use them as reference in the future.

This program was created by Sobratema to give to the user of construction equipment a reference about machine hourly costs. The inserted values are referred to normal operating conditions and do not include non-working and non-productive hours. It is available for free consulting by the associates of Sobratema, and has available—for non-associated professionals—a consolidated table with 32 categories of equipment and their corresponding average costs.
