The place is being rebuilt and the conclusion of works is foreseen for the end of April. The project includes the rebuilding of the original 40,000 sq.mt. pavilion and the construction of new structures including 50,000 sq.mt. of exhibition area and a garage building with 4500 places. “Its privileged location, near Jabaquara subway station, Congonhas Airport and Mário Covas Road Ring, plus the four new access ways to the Center that are being built also contribute to make the São Paulo Expo the most important space of events in the city of São Paulo and in Brazil”, says Damien Timperio, CEO of the São Paulo Expo.
For Hugo Ribas Branco, director of Operations and Exhibitions of Sobratema, the exhibitors may take advantage of all benefits of a modern pavilion when showing to a highly qualified public their solutions, services, products and new features in urban structure. “The visitor will have more comfort and mobility to know the news presented by the construction chain companies and to see what the municipalities are doing to improve the quality of life of their population”, adds him.
In this sense, the GL Events, manager of the São Paulo Expo, invested in more sustainable options to update the area, including the use of natural gas as a source of energy, in addition to LED lights, which are more economic and cause a lower impact in the environment. “There is also an area to replant the trees that had to be removed during the works”, says Timperio. A total of R$ 400 million is being invested in this updating.
In terms of comfort, the director of the São Paulo Expo tells about an investment of R$ 100 million carried out only in the covered parking building, making easy and quick the access to the pavilions. “Our project also foresees fixed restaurants in the place and Wi-Fi network. All this structure was designed to offer the maximum comfort for visitors and exhibitors, who will live a unique experience in the São Paulo Expo”, points him.
According to Ribas, this updating has also a direct relationship with the scope of the Construction Expo 2016, that is “Moving Cities – Constructive Solutions for the Municipalities”. “Our exhibition will show solutions for urban infrastructure. And the improvement of access ways that is being carried out is an example of project that allows a better circulation of people in the area”, analyzes him.
In addition to solutions designed to improve urban mobility, the Construction Expo 2016 will also have several pavilions related to infrastructure, such as the Sustainability Hall (in partnership with Inovatech Engenharia/Casa Aqua), that will highlight sustainability in construction; the VivaCidade Pavilion (in partnership with Sinaenco - National Union of Architecture and Consulting Engineering Companies, Abridef - Brazilian Association of Product and Service Dealers of Products for Handicapped Persons and ITS - Institute of Software Technology), that will show the best practices of accessibility, according to the new Brazilian Inclusion Act; the World of Concrete Pavilion (in partnership with World of Concrete), that will show the main news in concrete industry; the Moving Cities Pavilion, an exclusive area where the municipalities of the whole country will show their accomplishments, public policies and solutions developed in the area, among others.
The Construction Expo 2016 will integrate in a single place public managers and private companies, showing national and international cases of urban infrastructure projects. For the companies of the industry, it is an opportunity to show solutions developed by them that bring productivity, quality, cost reduction and agility to public works. For the professionals of municipalities and state governments it will be an opportunity to be in contact with the best solutions in materials, services, equipment and technologies.
