Sobratema will carry out the Construction Summit 2016 in June

Event will include a congress and interactive exhibitions

Considering the severity of the current economical and political situation of the country and the strong retraction of practically all areas of the national economy, Sobratema – Brazilian Association of Technology for Construction and Mining, in concert with the exhibitors and the partner entities decided to postpone for June, 2017 the third edition of the Construction Expo – International Trade Show and Congress of Buildings and Infrastructure Works, together with the third edition of the M&T Parts and Services Trade Show.

However, considering the important role of the Construction Expo and the urgent necessity of promoting meetings and debates to direct all agents of this important chain of production, the organization will carry out—in the same date and place—a Summit where public managers, industry entities, companies, technical communities of construction, engineering and urbanism, specialized media and other sections of the public will meet and debate with remarkable national and international experts the present and the future of the macro-industry of construction and its interface with our cities.

“Our purpose with the Construction Summit is to strengthen and enhance our traditional event turned to technical and specialized content. We understand that this will be an important requirement in the current situation of retracted market, while we wait for the retaking of the activities, that—we hope—will occur in 2017. It will join to other important events carried out by Sobratema, such as the workshop, the Market Study and the trade shows”, stated Afonso Mamede, president of Sobratema, in a collective interview carried out in April 20 at São Paulo.

The Construction Summit will be carried out in June 15 and 16 and will include a congress composed by two seminars—about Moving Cities and Constructive Technologies and Systems—and an interactive exhibition including the subjects VivaCidade (Living Cities), in partnership with the Sinaenco/Abridef/ITS, Sustainability (partnership with Inovatech/Casa Aqua/ Carlos Alberto Vanzolini Foundation), Dry Construction (partnership with companies), Startups (partnership with entrepreneurs), Productivity and Industrialization (partnership with Abramat and other entities) and Moving Cities (partnership with more than ten city governments).

“Our expectation is to carry out a very successful event, since it will be directed to a selected public and will be focused in areas that interest the market. We are working with the perspective of a public of more than 2500 persons, including engineers, technicians, public managers and other professionals involved with construction activities”, said Hugo Ribas Branco, Sobratema’s director of Operations and Trade Shows.

According to Carlos Alberto Laurito, director of Institutional Relations of the entity, “we will maintain for the Construction Summit the support and the partnership with all entities that were previously adjusted for the trade show. In some cases, such as city governments and the Ministry of Cities, this relationship will be strengthened and deepened. We are also in contact with the Frente Nacional dos Prefeitos (National Front of Mayors), that will also take part in the lectures, with focus in the establishment of PPPs and also showing the difficulties and the bureaucracy in project approval”.
