Sobratema is invited to take part in the Consulting Board of the 4th Meeting of Municipalities with Sustainable Development

CONCEIVED BY THE NATIONAL FRONT OF MAYORS, IT IS CONSIDERED THE MAIN EVENT ABOUT URBAN SUSTAINABILITY IN BRAZIL

 Sobratema – Brazilian Association of Technology for Construction and Mining was invited by the National Front of Mayors (FNP – Frente Nacional dos Prefeitos) to take part in the Consulting Board of the 4th Meeting of Municipalities with Sustainable Development (IV EMDS), the main event  on urban sustainability in Brazil, to be carried out between April 24 and 28, 2017 in the National Stadium Mané Garrincha (Brasília/DF).

The director of Institutional Relations from Sobratema, Carlos Alberto Laurito, will represent the association in this board, contributing with the content, organization and mobilizing support for the event that received 9458 participants of 1507 Brazilian cities in its last event, including mayors of the main Brazilian cities, governors, ministries and foreign delegations of the five continents. 

According to Laurito, this invitation was due to the strong and assertive participation of Sobratema in the development of engineering, infrastructure, construction and mining through the spreading of knowledge, encouragement of quality in labor forming and training and through the spreading of new technologies in materials, equipment, management solutions and monitoring, as well as in constructive systems. “I highlight also the assertive institutional relationships that we have with main industry entities, associates (companies and engineers), government organisms and professionals of the industry”, adds him.

The main theme of the IV EMDS is “Redesigning city governance and financing”. It is an opportunity to promote the debate,reflection and interchange of experiences to improve the population’s quality of life. The event will include Forums TED-alike, Discussion Arenas, Thematic Rooms and Good-Practice Square and will also have an exhibition of solutions for municipalities, the Expo Cidades and a space for presentation of successful practices of local governments, the Caminho das Cidades.
