In the area of knowledge and information spreading, two events have to be pointed out: the Sobratema Workshop, which had as main approach Compaction – Technologies and Concepts, and the Construction Summit. The first event had an innovative format with two panels which brought technical information about two subjects: technologies for soil compaction and technologies for asphalt compaction. For the debate, Sobratema invited the main manufacturers of compaction equipment, which have the expertise needed to talk about the concepts proposed in the design of each machine. This gave to the participants a unique opportunity of following a consistent technical debate about different technologies, their benefits and their disadvantages.

And the Construction Summit 2016 gathered more than 45 experts from Brazil and foreign countries to debate subjects related to urban infrastructure, contributing for city development through constructive solutions which improve accessibility, mobility, sustainability and quality of life for the citizens. The program included seminars, workshops, congresses, lectures and courses sponsored by Sobratema, WRI Brasil Cidades Sustentáveis, 14 entities of the industry, teaching institutions and companies. The event was considered by the participants and experts as an important vector of knowledge, integration and networking. In addition to the technical content, the Construction Summit 2016 had also an area for exhibitions, where the highlights were Mostra VivaCidade, Exposição Cidades em Movimento, Encontro das Start-ups da Construção, Mostra da Sustentabilidade and Mostra Produtividade e Industrialização. 

In the area of Certification and Human Development, Sobratema offers—through a partnership with Abendi – Associação Brasileira de Ensaios Não Destrutivos e Inspeção—the third-part certification for professionals in the areas of load lifting and handling (Rigger, Rigging Supervisor, Lasher Signalman; Operators of Conventional Cranes, Tower Cranes, Knuckle-boom Cranes, Overhead Traveling Cranes and Gantry Cranes), earth and rock moving (Operators of Motor Grader, Crawler Tractor, Excavator, Backhoe, Compactor, Loader) and drivers of truck-mounted concrete pump, truck-mounted concrete mixer, dump trucks, lubricating trucks, low-boy and asphalt spreader. And the Opus Institute is carrying out a series of courses along this year to train and certify professionals in specialties related to construction and mining equipment. 

Till the end of the year, Sobratema will also carry out the starting event of the Week of Integrated Technology for Construction, Environment and Equipment, a unique initiative that will strategically promote empowerment, integration and business retaking in the construction chain. And it will also carry out the strategic event Tendências no Mercado da Construção in November 9, where important experts will give relevant information about the perspectives of the economy and of the construction equipment industry. In the same event, the digital edition of the Sobratema Equipment Guide 2017-2018—containing technical information and specifications of the main equipment used in excavation, loading, transport, concrete and paving—will be available to the public.
