Sobratema completes 29 years of a well-succeeded path
On September 12, the Brazilian Association of Technology for Construction and Mining (Sobratema) celebrated 29 years of foundation. The institution is contributing to the development of the entire productive chain through the promotion of actions with technical, informative, educational and market content.
To spread knowledge, information and new technologies, Sobratema carried out in June the Week of Integrated Technologies for Construction, Environment and Equipment. This unique initiative highlighted three relevant subjects for the Brazilian society: human motion for harmonic coexistence between pedestrians, bycicle riders, handicapped persons and vehicles; environmental sustainability as priority in all activities of the economy; and the investments in construction for job retaking and for a new cycle of growth.
The Week of Integrated Technologies included the BW Expo 2017 – Trade Show of Services and Technologies for Sustainable Management of Water, Surplus Materials, Air and Energy; the Construction Expo 2017 – International Trade Show of Building and Infrastructure Works – Services, Materials and Equipment; the M&T Parts and Services 2017 – Trade Show and Congress of Technology and Management of Equipment for Construction and Mining; and also the Sobratema Summit 2017, the largest event of content from these areas in the whole country.
In the area of Certification and Human Development, Sobratema offers—in partnership with Abendi – Brazilian Association of Non-destructive Tests and Inspection—the Third-part Certification for professionals of load lifting and handling such as Rigger, Rigging Supervisor and Lasher Signalman; Operator of mobile cranes, tower cranes, knuckle-boom cranes, overhead travelling cranes and gantry cranes. Along this year, the Opus Institute is carrying out a series of courses to train and qualify professionals in expertises related to the areas of construction and mining equipment.
Through its magazines, Sobratema still supported important events of the industry, such as the Workshop 2017, organized by the M&T magazine. The event—that had as its main subject New practices of maintenance in the current scenario—gathered engineers, professionals, technicians and experts that work with equipment. With a different format, it was composed by three lectures given by maintenance experts and a debating panel with the participation of six representatives of different areas that use equipment: construction, mining, rental, transport, sand and gravel (quarries), and load lifting and handling.
The Infrastructure Forum—promoted by the Grandes Construções magazine—gathered more than 200 executives and businessmen of construction and infrastructure areas, who could hear the lectures from the journalist Cristiana Lôbo and from the economist Ricardo Amorim about The role of Infrastructure in the Retaking of Brazilian Growth.
Till the end of the year, Sobratema will support the event Trends of the Construction Market, organized by the M&T magazine in November 9. In its 12th edition it will have the participation of the economist Luis Artur Nogueira, that will talk about the subject Brazil will continue to grow: Challenges and Opportunities. In that event the important Sobratema Study of the Construction Market will be disclosed and the companies awarded with the 2017 Aftersales Awards—an initiative of the Young Core— will be honored will be honored. With this record of relevant accomplishments and initiatives for the area where it works, Sobratema is ready to face the challenges for the next years.
