M&T Expo will present the latest news and technologies in the market for construction and mining equipment in 2018

As of its 2018 edition, the largest trade show for the sector in Latin America is part of the bauma network – a cooperation that will contribute to growth in international participation

The 10th edition of M&T Expo – International Trade Fair and Congress for Construction and Mining Equipment will be held from June 5 through 8, 2018, at the São Paulo Expo Exhibition & Convention Center in the city of São Paulo – Brazil. The event will gather the industry’s entire production chain and present its most important product introductions, main trends and technologies, underscoring the importance of the sector for the economic and social development of the country. In 2015, M&T Expo celebrated two decades of success gathering - despite the recession in the country’s economy - no less than 45 755 visitors and 478 exhibitors from 25 different countries.

In 2018, the largest event in Latin America for construction and mining equipment – features some novelties. First of all, M&T Expo is now a member of the bauma NETWORK. This will contribute very positively to growth in the participation of international companies since there will be a greater connection with global markets and, mainly, with the world’s most important trade shows for the segment. At present, the bauma NETWORK includes the trade fairs: bauma (with 605 000 square meters the largest trade fair in the world, held in Munich), bauma CHINA, bauma CONEXPO INDIA, bauma CONEXPO AFRICA, and bauma CTT RUSSIA.

Another innovation is the configuration of M&T Expo 2018, which shows a new floor set-up, organizing exhibitors in four major sectors: construction and mining equipment, equipment for lifting of loads and people, equipment for the production and handling of concrete  and asphalt, as well as components and services. This initiative will help to promote a better experience for entrepreneurs, engineers, professionals and technicians of construction, mining and equipment-rental companies during their visits to the event since it will facilitate the organization of their agendas of business meetings and their search for technological innovations according to their areas of interest.

Visitors and exhibitors alike will find themselves in a remodeled and enlarged São Paulo Expo Center. The venue now provides greater comfort and convenience as a result of its modernization, which included the construction of modern pavilions and a Convention Center, for a total area of 100 000 square meters. These new pavilions will replace the former outdoor area of M&T Expo 2015. Even so, for the event’s 10th edition, there will also be a new outdoor exhibition/equipment demonstration area.

M&T Expo will be the only trade show focusing on construction and mining equipment to be held in Brazil in 2018. The event has played a preponderant role in the market over the last 20 years upon discussing the future of the sector in the country and demonstrating advanced technologies and innovative trends in equipment. In all its editions, M&T Expo has also been an important thermometer for users, manufacturers and suppliers of equipment and will, once again, be held at the best time for the market, since indicators of economic activity have been increasingly positive. According to data from the Brazilian Central Bank’s Focus-Market Readout Bulletin (Boletim Focus) released this week, the financial market has raised, for the fifth time, its estimate for growth in the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) 2018: from 2.43% to 2.50%.

For this edition, the following companies have already confirmed their participation: Ammann, Bomag Marini, Case Construction Equipment, Wirtgen Group, JCB, John Deere, Komatsu, New Holland Construction, Terex, Volvo Construction Equipment, among others. “We are excited and encouraged by the interest of companies in participating in the event which indicates a more optimistic and positive scenario in the area of construction and in the segment of mining,” underscores Hugo Ribas - Director of Trade Fairs at Messe München do Brasil.

M&T Expo was first held in 1995 under the initiative of the Brazilian Association of Technology for Construction and Mining (Sobratema). The 2018 edition marks the beginning of a long-term cooperation agreement established between the association and Messe München, organizers of the global bauma NETWORK. M&T Expo is now organized and promoted by Messe München do Brasil.
